What is Quilt Till You Wilt? |
|||
|
Quilt Till You Wilt is a day long
gathering, close to home, where guild members and their quilting friends can
come together in an informal and friendly environment to work on any
project. These day long events are usually held
a minimum of 2-4 times a year, usually on a Saturday and run from 9 am to 4 pm. There is
no fee or cost. You can
come for the whole day or for as long as you have time for.
Participants bring their brown bag lunch or step out to a nearby restaurant
to grab a bite. Coming to a Quilt Till You Wilt day is a good way to get projects finished, start new ones, or just enjoy others who like creating and quilting as much as you do. New members have said it's a fun way to really meet and talk with existing members. Members who are beginning quilters have said it's a great way to get more technique training and help on specific projects. The Kennedy Senior Center in Natick has been a welcoming host for over 6 CLQ Quilt Till You Wilt days in the past 2 years. Refer to the Guild Calendar for upcoming Quilt Till You Wilt dates. The center is located at 117 E. Central St. (Rt. 135) just off down town Natick, it is a single level building that is handicapped accessible with plenty of parking. Quilters work in one of 2 different rooms depending on what other activities are ongoing at the facility. There are long tables useful for basting quilts. They also have a soda machine and microwave. Although some participants have brought full ironing boards and big cutting mats for shared use, it is always best to make sure you bring everything you need to be completely self sufficient. If you do forget some basic notion or fabric, there are 2 stores nearby: Fabric Place in downtown Framingham just off Rt. 135 and Jo-Ann Fabrics in Natick on Rt. 9. Directions to Kennedy Senior Center in Natick as follows: From Mass Pike
